Monday, December 18, 2006 @ 12/18/2006 06:52:00 PM Just came home from watching this movie "Cinderella", directed by Bong Man-Dae (yeah I purposely visited the website to find out). Let me summarise to you what is it all about... Hyung-su's mother Yong Hee is a plastic surgeon. After operating on Hyung-su's friends, they died one after another by cutting their faces. Hyung-su began to suspect about her past... Actually, Hyung-su is not Yong Hee's biological daugther. Many years back, Yong Hee's biological daugther's face was disfigured in a car accident. She didn't died though... Yong Hee then adopted a girl who is actually Hyung-Su... I'm not sure what happens after that but all I know is Yong-Hee promised her biological daugther to give her a pretty face but did not do that. The face, that is supposed to be on the biological daugther's face, was given to Hyung-su instead. I think Yong Hee actually locked up her biological daugther - not allowing her to go out (even to school)? I didn't really understand that part. But there was a scene where Hyung-su was having a birthday party, this biological daugther was watching with envious. She was pleading Yong-Hee that she wanted to have a birthday party and a pretty face too. But Yong Hee locked her up. Then she hung herself... So the mysterious death is actually the curse from this biological daugther...just because, she wants her pretty face, I guess. She's jealous that her mum gaves others a pretty face but not her...so she came back to 'haunt'...I think so... The last scene actually made me cried like nobody's business. Yong Hee thought it was time for Hyung-su to give back the face that doesn't belongs to her. As she was cutting Hyung-su's face, Hyung-su pleaded not to kill her. Memories of the mother and daugther keep echoing in Yong-hee's mind. She can't bring herself to operate on Hyung-su... Her biological daugther (not alive by then...you get what I mean?) insist on getting her face back! So before she killed Hyung-su, Yong-Hee pacifies her, and both of them left together... Yup, I was crying like nobody's business upon watching that scene...so sad! But hope my explanation is clear enough...you can visit this website to view the trailer... It was a good film indeed =)...
