Hello.

Well, just finished episode 2 of 放羊的星星 ("My lucky star"); actually this isn't a new idol serial, but I heard that it was quite well-received in Taiwan, so I decided to watch it. Well, not a bad show indeed =)...

Alright. I'm not the sort who will always reminisce the past - I'll only do it once in a while and will "look forward" after that. But since qing qing brought up this topic, I feel like blogging about this too...but no worries, I'll "look forward" after that =)...

Until today, there has been 5 people (in my family) who left us for...new life at another world? Yeah~~

Firstly - my maternal grandmother. I've never seen her before because she passed away one year before I was born. And according to my parents (or is it my aunties?), coincidentally my mum was SUSPECTED to be pregnant during the wake. So she was still required to have a red cloth tied at her stomach during the funeral. I don't know why but looks like its a "rule" for pregnant woman eh? Anyway not long after it was confirmed that my mum was expecting me? I think so. LOL!

Secondly - my paternal grandfather. He passed away when I was in Primary 5, and I still remember the date - 13th January 1999. After school, my father drove us to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. I think by then we already know the demise of our grandfather. My late grandma was too devastated with his death that she broke down...

Anyway, during the wake, the elders are already in grieve. But me? Sorry eh, didn't feel anything yet. It's only right before his body was sent for cremation then all of us broke down...
Oh by the way, if my memory didn't serve me wrong, he died of heart attack.

Thirdly - my second auntie (my mother's side). I can remember the date where she left us too - 13th July 2004! That night, my brother and I was at home. I was practicing my English Ten-year-series and my brother received a call, saying that my auntie just died of breast cancer, so my mum will be coming home late.

And for the rest of the night, I felt heavy-hearted...

Yeah, it was the most devastating moment again. After the wake, her body was about to send for cremation. Again, all of us broke down. But I must mentioned something - my cousin (her daughter) was very strong back then. She was still able to entertain us during the funeral period, the only time we saw her cry was when my late auntie's body was about to send for cremation.

Fourthly - my first uncle, means my first auntie's husband. We ain't really close to him but after attending his funeral (8th October 2006, if I've not forgotten), I understand a little better I-forget-is-it-Christian-or-Catholic culture. It's like, death is not the end of one's life but the starting of a new life? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Fifthly - my paternal grandmother, I think she died of diabetes. I'm not sure of the exact date she left us but it's somewhere in July this year. If you've been following my entry, you've seen me blogging about this; for SOME reason, I wasn't able to see my maternal grandmother for the last time. No worries, I'm not holding it against anyone, its just a small regret =)...
