Whoa. I'm suppose to blog earlier but had a nice chat with alvin over msn...not forgetting isaac and meikian and pegg too...LOL!

On Thursday, I went to school with great anticipation but had to leave school with great disappointment. Why? I couldn't borrow a laptop from our helpdesk on time. since there isn't laptop for me to use so I choose not to attend lesson.

I brought my laptop to Sim Lim Square instead (don't want to impose on my brother's friend since he's busy). It should be confirmed that its the problem with motherboard so they will need 1 week to repair...Ok lor~

Thanks my parents and brother for forking out the money to help me pay...

Today's Molecular and cell biology class...is it because its Friday already so I'm feeling more relax now? I'm not saying I have the confidence to do well, just that I realized today I seemed to have more energy to smile...=)

UT3 starts next week...-_-!!!

Aha! regarding module selection; I think I would be choosing the "medical technology" track. As for the elective to choose, I'm considering "clinical trials" or "drugs discovery"...I think I may be interested in "drugs discovery" more but I feared that we might need knowledge from "pharmacology" module...not sure yet, I have until 5th december to make up my mind ;)...

So the main modules in Medical Technology Track will be as follows

A301 Laboratory Management
This module covers aspects of basic management, quality control, total quality management, laboratory performance parameters and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Emphasis will be placed on the various areas of effective laboratory operations, including pre-analytical aspects (pre-analytical variables, laboratory forms and reports, planning and instituting new tests), analytical aspects (method/kit evaluation, laboratory instruments evaluation, maintenance of laboratory equipment) and post-analytical aspects (quantities and units, decision levels, critical values, reference values). The fundamentals of laboratory information systems, costing, finance and budgeting, laboratory safety and reference laboratory services will also be taught.

A351 Medical Microbiology
This module focuses on the classification, cultivation and epidemiology of medically important micro-organisms with an emphasis on the isolation techniques and methods of identification. The pathophysiology and control of infections affecting organ systems of the human body will be covered. The epidemiology, life cycles, laboratory identification and isolation techniques of clinically important parasites will also be taught. A study of basic virology will cover the characteristics, classification, pathogenecity and diagnostic techniques of viruses causing common human diseases.

A352 Histopathology and Cytology
This module is a continuation of the module in Medical Technology (A251) offered earlier and covers the theory and principle of diagnostic methods used in Histopathology and Cytology. It focuses on Histotechnology, Histochemistry and other techniques used in Histopathology and Cytology. This subject covers specimen preparation, processing and a selection of staining methods for Histological and Cytological diagnoses.

A343 Drug Discovery and Development
This course will cover the processes involved in drug discovery and development, from a drug’s original discovery to its final use in the market. This process will be elaborated through coverage of drug targets, screen strategies, the contrast between the natural product approach and the chemical synthesis approach to drug design, high throughput screening, the characterization of active components, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), preclinical studies and toxicology.

or

A344 Clinical Trials
The principles of Clinical Trials and the role of clinical research in drug development are introduced in this module. It will cover the phases and design of trials, research ethics and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), design strategies, regulatory issues, drug action and the business of clinical research.

The other two elective will be proteomics as well as genomics but I think I'm striking that out...

A blink in an eye and november is over...there has been ups and downs in this month but well, this is life! Let's keep the wonderful memories safely in our heart and forget about the unhappiness. HOLIDAYS ARE COMING~~~~

Also, November = No Milubing...
but never mind, two events coming up on 8th december...I'll have to make sure I prepare for my immunology UT3 (on 10th december) before chasing them? =D

All take care! And whatever bad stuff happens, just hang in there, laugh (?) and it will be over soon!

*edited*
forget to upload this picture stolen from meiyin's blog =)...MEIYIN, DON'T MIND? :p

Now then I realized I still have pictures yet to update. I'll update when I remember or when my laptop is ready ok? Pardon me =X...
