Monday, December 28, 2009 @ 12/28/2009 03:29:00 AM It was donkey ages since I last do a proper update again. Sorry for the absense~ ah mui was so busy with work, having fun plus sleep, that ah mui didn't have time to sit down and penned down my thoughts. haha but i promised to update today cos its my off day, even though its time to sleep~ haha 16th December 2009 ah mui became one of the first few staff (besides the projectionists) in ew wm to catch 3D Avatar, for I worked in the 3D station during the sneak preview. Damn the crowd was crazy~ at first I didn't get the story, and the super long duration was turning me off... but after watching near 20 times (during the subsequents duties in 3D station), it gets nicer? in this show we withness Jakesully intial's mission is to help the colonel miles to destroy the Na'vi's homeland, till he embraced the Na'vi's race despite not being one, and him falling in love with the Chief's daughter make him wanna sacrifice everything for her, including betraying his own race. a nice blended sci-fi, action, romance with a tinge of comedy... 4 popcorns out of 5~ Backtrack to my last off day, 17th December 2009, ah mui meet ah min for movie marathon - Princess & the Frog (AGAIN!) and Twilight Saga New Moon (using my staff pass). For New moon, it was a nice show considering I didn't watch the first part, neither did i read the books. But I'm amazed by Cullen and Bella's love? The ending was powerful. It made me look forward to Eclipse now. but at some point of time the show gets too draggy... 3.5 out of 5 popcorns... 18th December 2009... ah mui worked at 3D station again... the crowd for Avatar is real crazy...full house for almost all the shows... they had a hard time battling with the crowds, we had a hard time cleaning the hundred over 3D glasses... it was total madness~ but i'm lucky that i have my good buddy benedict for staying back to help me whenever he can. thanks~ oh ya, eng wah got a new concessionaire promotion... Avatar combo - blue popcorns and coke zero. Blue popcorns? sounds funny right... i'm sure many of you will be turned-off when u hear "blue popcorns"... we were told to inform the customers "its blueberry popcorns"... but for blueberry lovers like ah mui, of course we can tell its not blueberry it's coloring~ damn it~ but because of this, we stopped selling the normal popcorn combo over the concessionaire counter. we had to waste time explaining to the customers and ah mui hate that... ah mui just don't get why is it that when the management love to implements stupid stuff, we the staff will always be the first one to get fucked by the unhappy customers? 23rd December 2009... meet up with ah ling, ah shan, ah cheh, and pegg for pre-christmas dinner? we had dinner at Astons at The grand cathay... damn the queue was so long that we waited for an hour... the food was nice and its worth the price... pictures are up in my facebook already... 24th december 2009 watched Storm warriors 2 using staff pass with junhao at ew wm, before I started work at 4pm... This is the WORST movie I've watched this year... The whole show focus too much on CGI that the story was totally bored to the max... But I loved the ending song by the two main casts... Already put up in the blog =D... Alvin and the chipmunks 2 opens on this day...Plus Avatar is still ongoing, it's madness + madness at work... last 3 days... eng wah had double midnight shows. what does that mean? usually the last few shows in the midnight will start after 11pm to 12am right? but for last week and this week, the last show starts after 2am. cool right? very last show was 3D avatar, started at 2.55am, ends at 5.40am so we go back at 6am. It was fun but tiring working until 6am in the morning... today... today was my off day...I headed down to Causeway point to catch "Bodyguards & Assassins". Not too bad but I might need to give second thoughts if you want me to rank it as the "ah mui's favorite movie of 2009" (a blog post that I will come out with soon)... the whole show itself was just above average only? Not too bad but not really is ah mui's cup of tea as well. But the selling point is definitely the strong casts in this show. Li yu chun, who made her debut acting appearance, suprisingly was very mature in her acting. Nicholas Tse's role is very cute... Will definitely watch it again using staff pass =)...
